Week 7

- Installed a few work related software in a PC at payment counter.
- Installed Microsoft Excel 2007 on 2 PC at the Department of Engineering.
- Troubleshoot a non-responsive PC at the Department of Social and Community. Problem are caused by 2 anti-virus installed on the PC, thus heavy on the system's RAM. Proceed to uninstall one of the anti-virus and the PC are back to normal again.
- Troubleshoot a network problem on a PC at the Department of Social and Community. Problem are caused by broken LAN port at the cubicle.
- Troubleshoot a network problem on the PC at the Department of Engineering. Problem are caused by incorrect TCP/IP setting on the PC.
- Maintaining a PC at the Department of Information Technology. The PC is connected to a printer that is always used by staff of other department. Staff are always complaining that the PC is slow and sometimes non-responsive. The cause of the problem is load of unnecessary software and small capacity RAM.
- Troubleshoot a PC that cannot enter Windows because of corrupted files in Windows. Proceed to repair the Windows using Windows XP recovery CD. After the PC can be booted into Windows, periodic maintenance is done to the PC.
Week 8

- Troubleshoot a PC at the One Stop Center Department. The PC shuts down automatically without user's consent. Suspected the cause of problem is because the power supply also powers the monitor, therefore the CPU has inadequate power. Proceed to installed an independent power cable for the monitor. No problems reported so far.
- Changing the IP address of the PC's at payment counter. Each of the PC at the payment counter has its own fixed IP address so that if the server is down, the PC at the payment counter will not be affected and still has its own connection to the internet and intranet.
- Checking the specs of the PC's at One Stop Centre Department, the Department of Urban Planning and the Department of Development. The report of the specs of the PC's will be submitted to KPKT (Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan) to ensure whether these PC'c are capable of running the OSC (One Stop Center) Online system.
- Attend a briefing about 5S (Sisih, Susun, Sapu, Seragam, Selalu Amal).
- Installed Latest Mozilla Firefox internet browser software on 20 computers at the Department of IT's Koridor Siber.
